Windsor Accessibility Modifications Program
Now accepting applications!
The Windsor Accessibility Modifications Program provides free safety and accessibility modifications for single-family homes in Windsor. The program is funded through a $250,000 Prohousing Incentive Pilot program grant that was awarded to the Town by the State Department of Housing and Community Development. Administered via a subrecipient partnership agreement with Rebuilding Together Petaluma (RTP), this initiative provides critical improvements for mobility, independent living, and safety for our community’s residents.
The program focuses specifically on removing physical barriers by installing structural additions like wheelchair ramps, handrails, automated door openers, and accessible bathroom retrofits. Prioritized applicants include low-income older adults, residents living with permanent disabilities, and local non-profits that provide residential services.
- Application Period: September 1, 2026, through March 30, 2028, or until funds run out.
- Eligibility: Single-family homes located within Windsor town limits. Must verify property ownership or landlord authorization.
- Non-Profit Facility Eligibility: Local non-profit organizations that provide residential services may apply for safety and accessibility building modifications.
- Cost to Approved Applicants:100% Free. All planning, construction labor, and materials are covered directly by the grant program via the RTP partnership.
